We decided that since
Morgan's school year is ending soon, it wouldn't be a big deal to pull her out of school for the day.
Morgan opened presents from family members who couldn't be there to share in the celebration.
After having cake for breakfast, we took
Brody to preschool and
Bob,
Morgan and
I went fishing at Busch Wildlife.

After fishing, we came home and cleaned up, we went to a surprise lunch at Kitaro, a Japanese restaurant.
Morgan has been there before on a field trip and keeps asking to return. So we met
Oma and
Bepaw there for lunch. We had our lunch prepared by a chef in front of a Hibachi table. Very fun!
Morgan even had the staff sing her happy birthday and bring her a chocolate covered donut!
Morgan has since requested we go there every year for her birthday!
After a delicious lunch, we went back to our house and
Morgan opened presents from us and then from
Oma and
Bepaw. Then,
Morgan had yet another surprise,
Oma made her a new bedspread and pillow covers.
Morgan was thrilled! She's been asking for new bedding for quite some time now!

After presents, blueberry pie and chocolate ice cream, we stopped by daycare to pick up
Brody so he could help celebrate too. We were going to go to the zoo, but figured out that by the time we got downtown, we would have only been able to spend a little over an hour running around the zoo and then have to leave. So we asked
Morgan what she wanted to do, and she said fishing.

For the day,
Morgan caught 8 bluegill and
Brody caught 1 catfish. The fish weren't too interested in being caught, but we had fun nonetheless! Great day!
