Early birthday present and other stuff

We decided to give Morgan an early birthday present. We took her to the mall without her knowing the reason why. As you can see, she was a bit leery in the beginning, but she was a trooper!! She has cleaned her ears three times a day, all by herself and is being extrmely responsible. WE are quite proud of her! She can't wait to change from her flower earrings to her Hello Kitty earrings in five weeks!!

This Sunday, we will be having her school friends here for a princess birthday party!! Thirteen girls including Morgan for makeup, nails painted and a craft project!! OY! What have I done? Thankfully, I will have help from Mom and some friends!! Not sure that I could handle it alone!! I think I will need a drink or twenty when it's over...just to settle my nerves!! :) Actually, I think I have it planned pretty well! All the girls RSVP'd...think that's a record!! I will take pictures and video too!!
Here are some random pix...Morgan likes to get ahold of the camera...let's see if you can guess which ones she took...There are also two that just crack me up!! When I was a kid...my mom used to tease me that if I didn't behave...she was going to rotate me in the dryer...

Smoothie...

We make Brody fruit smoothies almost every morning. As soon as he sees the blender, let the crying begin. Even though I was a little late in capturing his temper tantrum, you can still get a brief glimpse of his need for his smoothie. :) ENJOY!!

Happy Easter!!

We had a nice Easter. Nolan was able to come and spend the night on Saturday night. The older kiddos were able to play Wii and goof around for a while. We tried, at first, to let them sleep together, but in the end, we had to separate them. They were up MUCH too late, but actually they did better than expected with such little sleep.
Brody was up first to see what the Easter Bunny had brought...and of course, the Easter Bunny knows EXACTLY what Brody loves....BALLS!! (Side note Brody started crawling on furniture on Friday)

Then Morgan awoke, but I asked her to be patient and wait in her room for a while. She waited very patiently for over an hour and a half. Finally at 8:00 she asked if we could wake up Nolan. So, now Bob and the two older kiddos came downstairs.

After Brody took a nap and Nolan and Morgan were able to play outside on the swing set and color with Nolan's new chalk, they came inside, took a bath and then we headed to Oma and Bepaw's house for lunch.
Morgan and Nolan had an Easter egg hunt, in which twelve eggs were strategically placed around the yard for the kids to find. They had to find only six eggs and couldn't duplicate colors. They worked very well together, helping the other one out when it came to finding eggs. Then Oma read clues on where to find their Easter baskets. Man...the Easter bunny went ALL out!! Great job EB!! Then came lunch...
We had ribs, potato salad, broccoli (note...Nolan is NOT a fan but he did take a no thank you bite!!) blueberry butter braid bread and carrot cake for dessert. YUM!!! Thanks Mom and Tom!!
Then it was time for Sara to come get Nolan :( All in all...it was a great day! Terrific weather, flowers starting to bloom, good company and food and the Good Lord has RISEN!! Couldn't ask for anything better!

Updates...

Let's see...what's going on in our world as of late? As of yesterday, Morgan has a double ear infection and a nasty cough, calmed by Benydryl, so that tells me it's allergies. Yet again, she's following in her mother's footsteps. Ear infections and allergies. Hopefully she will outgrow most of them as I did.

Brody is saying Mama, Dada, MoMo (for Morgan), ball, baba (which used to be for bottle, but now is for a drink) and as of Monday, Oma, which is what the kids call my mom. He's finally clapping and starting to wave bye-bye. Morgan has found some of his tickle spots and really can make him laugh. It's so cute to watch the two of them. Brody is definitely finding his voice too. If he doesn't get his way or become overly frustrated, he lets out with a shrill...notice I didn't say scream. Shrill is the best way to describe this annoying high pitched scream. Thankfully, it doesn't last long, but boy oh boy, is it LOUD!!

Morgan and I had some girly time last weekend as we went to the Shriner's Circus. (When I was growing up, my grandpa was a Shriner's clown for the parade.) We had a good time eating pretzel bites with cheese, a piece of pizza and we bought some cotton candy because Morgan said Daddy likes cotton candy. And believe it or not, it made it to Bob's hands before any of it was eaten. Morgan and Bob polished it off before I even had a bite! Anyway, we saw six white Siberian tigers, dancing bears, dogs that did tricks, horses, trapeze artists, quick change artists and so much more. Oma gave Morgan money to buy something. And Morgan bought light-up neon green blinking hair. And she had her face painted as a pink cat. (pictures are on FB if you haven't seen them) We had a great time!!

Bob had a cortisone shot in his ankle on Tuesday and it seems to be getting better on a daily basis. He has tendinitis from walking on concrete floors every weekend. Hopefully that will end soon. This weekend will be the test!

Morgan had spring break this weekend and was able to meet new friends and play with them all week. She said they played outside every day except for today when it rained. She even was able to play with some kids from her old preschool which was exciting!!

I have been going to a TCM acupunturist for aches, pains and stress relieving. I absolutely swear by Dr. Jing Shen. She is amazing! It's not a pain free procedure, but I feel so terrific afterwards, I can't even describe it. She does wonders for any and all ailments, aches and pains. She has gotten rid of headaches, reduced sinus pressure, even my nagging back pain is gone...even after I have spent literally all day on my feet, no back pain...am I sounding like an infomercial? I think I might have Bob talked into going too. But I know he would rather spend the money on the kids or me. But sometimes we have to do for ourselves.

For Bob's birthday, we gave him fishing licenses for KY, MO and IL...so he's a happy boy! Never knew something that simple could make someone so happy!! And he's set up some fishing time with my uncle in April. I am glad he's taking some time off during the week to do something he loves and it's just for him. We also gave him a game for the Wii, Zelda, which he was going to take back, but Morgan decided she would open it for him...whoops....if you don't know, once games are opened, they can't be returned. I knew he would like Zelda, but according to him, it's very time consuming and he just doesn't have the time for it. Maybe he will play it....I hope.

Morgan starts soccer this weekend. She's playing on an all girl league again and this time, it will be more girls her age. Her indoor league was primarily four year olds. This league is five and six year olds. Her color is neon green and her jersey has a dragon on it. I will take and post pix afterwards.

April and May will be busy with soccer, Easter, Morgan's school carnival and of course the big girl's birthday. We will be having a princess party here at the house for some of her friends. We will be going to Crown Candy Kitchen for Morgan's birthday sometime. She has been once, but she wasn't actually outside the womb yet!! Not sure that really counts!! Then school will end in May and then here comes summer!! We are GOING ON VACATION this year!! I think Bob and I are ready NOW!! But it's not quite warm enough in Florida just yet. Look out Brown's when the McWhorters come to invade!! :)

My summer project is to tackle our bathroom and bedroom. Basically there is nothing on the walls anywhere and I have decided to change the color of the bathroom. It's going to be a beach theme and I already know the color I want, I just have to find the accessories. So, I might have pictures by the end of the summer...hopefully!!

I think that's all for now...take care and love to all!!

Happy belated St. Pats...

Morgan said she was able to "pinch" one of her teachers who wasn't wearing green. Bob and I had corned beef, cabbage and potatoes for dinner. All in all, a good day.

Happy 48th Birthday Bobby!!

For those family members that don't know...on my side of the family, we purposely sing off key when it comes to the birthday song. So if you have the birthday song sung off key, means you are loved.

Week of March 1st

This past week was Dr. Seuss week at school. Each day represented a "different" dress day along with activity at school.
Monday was "Who" Hair DayTuesday was "Hats" off to Dr. Seuss...wear a hat to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. They even had green eggs and ham for lunch, which Morgan did eat!!
Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday, which I forgot to take a picture.
Thursday was Reading is no Sweat...wear your favorite sweats (again no picture) Morgan said she read ALL DAY!!!
Friday was "Order" up a good book...Dress in your favorite 50's attire. Now since no poodle skirts were readily available...we did the best with what we had available!!
She had a great time and has great school spirit! Every day she would wake up in a terrific mood, ready for the "fun" dress up day!! I see a Spirit day/week participant in latter years!!

Brody's 1st bday!!

Wow, what a great birthday! We had a great turn out (23 people) of family and friends, Brody was in a great mood (albeit wanting a baba (bottle which is being weened out)! He didn't dig into the cake and make a huge mess...but it was still fun to watch.
I still can't believe how fast time has flown by. He has four teeth on the top, another one is starting to peek out and three on the bottom. He says Mama, Dada, Baba and Ball. We are working on Momo for Morgan. But if you ask him where is Momo, he looks for Morgan.
